I listened to the Dunwich Horror narrated by Horrorbabble on Youtube. I once went on a spree of Lovecraft stories by them and had strange dreams. I mostly remember seeing body horror of things once human. I still listen to Lovecraft's collaborations sometimes, but I try not to fall asleep.
Great contrast of different worlds and the theme of awe or curiosity as an underbelly to the story. It also made me think of how some creations stay timeless
Thank you. That sense of curiosity was exactly what I was trying to capture, the feeling of someone picking up Weird Tales in the 1920s and glimpsing something strange and vast and unknown. ❤️
This was absolutely wonderful. The imagery you wield is amazing. The rhythm too. Although I'll advocate until I die that At the Mountains of Madness is his best piece (I'm a hipster, I know), the Dunwich Horror is a good choice. Jokes aside, I really loved reading you. It was well done, and I want more.
Thank you. That’s incredibly kind to say. And I completely understand the At the Mountains of Madness argument, it’s one the greats. I couldn’t get enough of it, so I ended up reading the Beyond the Mountains of Madness Call of Cthulhu tabletop roleplay game campaign book a few times as well and watched a few groups attempt to run the campaign on YouTube! ❤
Call of Chtulu is also iconic. I have this Lovecraft anthology I need to finish reading. I love the cosmic horror genre. It’s an existential kind of horror that resonates with a lot of people, including me. That aside, it was a delight to read you. You have a lot of talent! 🤍
Yes! And fair warning, Lovecraft is a rabbit hole. He wrote 100+ stories and reportedly close to 100,000 letters in his lifetime. You can disappear into that for years. 😳
Same here. I spent a lot of time consuming SCP content. One of my favorite stories eventually became the book There Is No Antimemetics Division. It is one of my personal all time favorites in recent memory! ❤️

I love Horrorbabble! I was re-listening to a few of his Lovecraft readings while I was at work today ❤️
Beautifully written
Thank you!

Fantastic, this has absolutely inspired me to pick up some Lovecraft
